Way back in the forties and the fifties, Alberto Vargas produced illustrations for Esquire and Play boy magazines, illustrations of women so lush and sexual I don’t think anyone since has been able to improve on them. It only takes one glance to guess that he probably spent much of his working day quivering with arousal by his creations, each one designed to provoke and excite the reader, and no doubt himself, just that bit more than the previous one.
